Telecom Italia Lab is the R&D branch of the Telecom Italia Group. Centre of excellence since 1964 in networks and services, Telecom Italia Lab took part in the definition and consolidation of the GSM standard, MP3 and optical transmission.

CRF is an independent R&D organisation and recognised centre-of-excellence with a high-profile role in Europe promoting and performing collaborative research and innovation. It was founded in 1976 as an Engineering Centre providing R&D services to each of the different companies within the FIAT Group.
